About Us
Since 2016, StayFair-Gems has been committed to fair trade in the jewelry and gemstone industry. Founder Ralf Schröder started with recycled stock to enable sustainable jewelry trading.
In 2022, together with Matthias Wiedmann, he developed the idea of promoting regional gemstones from Europe. Building a network of mineral collectors took nearly three years, making fair-trade, locally sourced gemstones available. Today, we offer a sustainable alternative in the jewelry industry – fair and local.
The alternative in the jewelry industry
Sustainable Sourcing
Our raw stones come exclusively from legal, environmentally friendly sources. We ensure that collectors have official permits and that nature is not unnecessarily harmed.
Stones are purchased at fair prices, set by the collectors themselves. Whenever possible, they are cut in Germany; otherwise, they are processed in our Sri Lanka workshop.
For full transparency, each stone has a QR code, allowing customers to trace its origin and processing.

Gemstones from Your Region
High-quality gemstones are not only found in Asia or South America but also in Germany and Europe. While other regions rely on environmentally harmful mining, industrial gemstone extraction is rare in Europe.
Historically, Europe was renowned for fine gemstones, such as Hungarian opals or Saxon topaz and amethyst. To preserve this tradition, we collaborate with mineral collectors who responsibly source stones. This allows us to provide you with unique, regionally sourced jewelry stones.
